Knowledge Hub Institute is a results oriented think tank based in Banani, Dhaka. The organisation produces evidence based policy research across three core streams: clean energy and climate, macroeconomic and public finance management, and employment and skills development. Its audience is mixed. Government bodies, development partners, businesses, journalists, and researchers all arrive at the site looking for different things, which meant the website had to work as a public profile and an institutional archive at the same time.

Beyond Bracket Ltd. built the KHI website on WordPress using Elementor Pro. The brief was a cost effective business website capable of holding a deep, structured body of institutional content without the budget of a full custom design process. Instead of producing UI mockups in Figma, we defined every page with the client across a series of online meetings using real reference websites, section by section, and then built directly in Elementor Pro.

Requirement

The main challenge was defining a large site accurately without a design phase to point at. On most projects a Figma file settles the argument about what a page should look like before anyone writes code. Removing that step to protect the budget meant we needed a different way to reach the same clarity. Without it, the build would have turned into repeated revision rounds and the cost saving would have disappeared.

We replaced the UI design phase with a structured, reference led definition process. The client shared the full list of pages they wanted. In a series of online meetings we worked through that list one page at a time, starting with the home page and the about page, and asked the client to point us to websites close to what they had in mind. For each page we collected screenshots of the specific sections they liked. For a single page such as the home page, that often meant several screenshots pulled from several different websites, each covering a different section. By the end of those meetings every page had a visual definition assembled from approved reference sections, and the development team built straight from it in Elementor Pro.

Communication was kept deliberately simple. One point of contact from KHI, one from Beyond Bracket, both in a WhatsApp group created for the project. Questions were answered the same day and approvals did not sit unread in email threads.
